Girls weekend

Man is it hot! Sean left Friday AM for his Fare the Well weekend. He picked a good night to be in San Francisco. (Yay SCOTUS!)

I picked CE up from camp Friday afternoon and we stopped for ice cream.

In the evening she dazzled me with her bike riding skills and then was up until 10:30!

Saturday, the girls went with Karina to the wading pool at Volunteer Park while I did a 9 mile train run. During the afternoon heat we laid low then ran some errands in the evening. It was so hot in the house we ate dinner on the front porch.

Sunday we were all set to go to the beach but it was thundering and cloudy. Instead we went to the grocery store and then to Miller Park.

While Sally napped, CE and I watched Tangled as I did her hair.

These two...

Are such sweet friends. So happy that they are still so close.

Last day of school

I can't believe it's her last day already!

First day.
Today!
Her puffs make me think of this.
Puzzles at the end of the day yesterday.
A nice woman offered to take a pic of us outside of school yesterday. While she has grown a lot since September, this girl is still pretty shy (when her Mama's around anyway).

CE will be home with Karina and Sally  next week. Summer Blast Canp starts the following week. Tonight we'll celebrate with CE's favorite, dumplings! Let the summer fun begin!

Best daddy!

Getting his nails painted.

Camping

Saturday late morning we headed to Anacortes to camp at Washington Park.  Carrie Ella (and Sean) was so excited! It was a really great park and campground and I hope we'll go back again.  Both girls (and parents) did great and slept well.  Carrie Ella had a blast.  She's dreaming about camping this week and talking about the next time we go :-)

Kudos to Sean who did a great job (as always) organizing food and packing.

At the playground by the beach.
Watching CE and Daddy look for creatures on the beach.  CE loved the "poppers".

 Setting up camp.

Chicken noodle soup for her.  Chicken fajitas for us.  Corn for both.  Yummy!

 Being silly.

 Chillin'
Some rest time before smores and hiking in the woods.  This is Sally before an epic throw up all over her sleep sack.  We ended up swaddling her in a blanket.
Smores, less the chocolate.  She's a strange one.  She'll come around eventually...
We survived the night!
We drove the scenic loop road in the park and got to explore the beach again.

Stopped at this beautiful overlook for a PBJ lunch.  It was hot!
