Camp #1 - Pedalheads

I dropped CE off at bike camp yesterday from 9:30-12:00. She's going with her friend Julia.  By the time I picked her up they had the training wheels off. It'll be interesting to see how much progress she makes by Friday!

Camping at Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park

We headed to cougar Rock campground with Ty, Julie and Nora Friday. There was rain and pretty cold temps Friday, but the rest of the weekend was great.

The first night of sleep was ok. Sally woke up crying a few times. Woke us all at 5:30 AM.

Around our camp site. Nora and CE were  "hiking" up and down the hill and between the two sites a lot. Then taking breaks in the tent with the iPad.

Up at Paradise for a short hike with the girls.

Apparently there's an amazing view of the mountain here. Oh well!

CE did great on the hike. There was lots of snow across a trail that is usually paved and easy going. It made it fun and a bit more difficult for the kiddos. CE was super tired at the end, but she did it. After lunch we headed off of the mountain and both girls took a long nap in the car.

Ty getting some Sally love.
Two pretty awesome people.
Second night of sleep was fantastic. Everyone slept until around 7:30.
The weather was even better today. Completely clear. Could see Rainier peaking through the trees at camp.

We learned some valuable lessons this weekend about packing with the kids and I do look forward to camping again soon.

Catch Up

Our Hawaii vacation seems like it was years ago.  Work and life have been so busy since we got back.  The Takacs's visited, I've been to Palo Alto for work twice, Sean built a fence, CE had her Arts Festival at school, we went to the Oregon coast for the weekend and here we are, two weeks left in the school year!

Here's a smattering of pictures....

 Paint the Town, UVillage.

Getting ready for the Preschool/PreK Arts Festival

Zada introducing the class right before they go on stage for a performance to "I Believe I Can Fly"

CE was so excited about this. It was all she talked about right before falling asleep and her first thoughts the morning of. (She's been talking about it and practicing for weeks.) She did a great job. She was concentrating so hard and I love seeing her run through that open door. (I'd load the video but it's too large).
 ❤️😊

Sally looked adorable in the dress from Aunt Debbie, of course she didn't cooperate to get a good picture.  Sigh.
On our way to Gearhart, OR.  Stopped for dinner in Astoria.
